Positives:

Naga Shaurya and Shamili

Rao Ramesh

First Half

Songs

Emotional Drama

Negatives:

Dragged second half

Predictable plot

Poor narration

Editing

Performances:

Naga Shaurya delivers out his best performance and he has been exceptional in the emotional drama. His comic timing and one-liners have been superb. Shamili looks apt and she shines in the assigned role. Her character has been penned well and she makes a decent impact. Rao Ramesh as expected dominated everyone well and is the major highlight of the movie. Ammammagarillu has a bunch of supporting actors and everyone delivered out their best for the movie.

Ammammagarillu has nothing new with plot and the screenplay looks old fashioned and emotionally overdosed. The one-liners have been well penned and both the songs have been well shot. The music has been soothing and so is the background score. The editing in the second half should have been better. The production values looked grand and the debutant Sundar Surya failed badly in convincing the audience with his family entertainer.

Verdict:

Ammammagarillu has its emotions but it turns out into a dreary drama with slow pace that tests the patience of the audience. Most of the episodes look predictable and dragged.

Rating: 2.5/5
